Elevate your facility’s infection prevention and control (IPC) capabilities with this cost-free program delivered by APIC Consulting Services and funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. This invaluable opportunity equips skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) with essential knowledge and skill development resources required to effectively establish and sustain a comprehensive respiratory protection and IPC program.

THIS NO-COST EDUCATION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITY INCLUDES:

Respiratory Protection Program Training Course

SNFs are high-risk environments for infectious diseases and generally have vulnerable populations. A respiratory protection program helps to minimize the potential transmission of respiratory pathogens to protect resident and employee health and is a Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirement to maintain regulatory compliance. This online and self-paced Respiratory Protection Program Training course covers key program elements such as proper respirator selection, use, maintenance, storage, fit testing and respiratory hazard identification. The four (4) hour training course consists of six (6) interactive learning modules. Available September 1.

Long-Term Care Infection Preventionist Essentials Training Course

Long-term care facilities have unique IPC challenges. The online and self-paced Long-Term Care Infection Preventionist Essentials Training course addresses these challenges by providing foundational training on the role and practice of effective infection prevention, IPC program management, risk mitigation strategies, and CMS program regulatory components.

To obtain the LTC-IP Essentials certificate and available continuing education (CE) credits*, participants are required to successfully complete all program components, including 28 hours of interactive learning modules, knowledge checks, a final assessment to reinforce learning, and course evaluation.
